The IRCC’s fifth 2023 Express Entry draw
The IRCC’s fifth 2023 Express Entry draw
This year, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its fifth Express Entry drawing. They invited 699 applicants who had a CRS score of at least 791. The program only accepted individuals who participated in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). It was the third draw for a certain program in 2023.
The Express Entry draw on February 1st was restricted to applicants who had received a provincial nomination, and the draw on February 2nd was restricted to applicants to the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).
About The Express Entry
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) are three Canadian immigration programs that employ the Express Entry application management system.
You are automatically qualified for at least one of the programs if you are a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidate and enter the Express Entry pool.
A point-based system is used for Express Entry. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used by the IRCC to rank candidate profiles and choose which candidates are admitted to the pool.
Only applicants who receive the highest scores are invited to apply (ITA) and can submit an application to become Canadian permanent citizens.
A representative from IRCC will examine the application after the candidate sends it and decide whether or not to approve it. If accepted, the applicant can proceed to apply for permanent residency, putting them one step closer to obtaining Canadian citizenship.
